Manuel is the Senior Director of Clinical Services for STR Behavioral Health. He holds a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University and a Masters in Clinical/ Counseling Psychology from LaSalle University. Manuel began working in Human Services at various clinical settings providing treatment to adolescent populations struggling with various Social Skills Deficits ranging from Autistic Spectrum Disorder to Conduct Disorder. Over the last 17 years, Manny has been providing treatment to those struggling with Mental Health, SUD, and other related co-occurring disorders. Whether working as a clinician, supervisor, or trainer, Manuel’s fundamental philosophy is grounded in identifying how human relationships are both rewarding and challenging. Early on in his education, his Professor said, “You cannot hope to know yourself (or anyone else) without understanding how the love-loss dynamic plays out in your life.” This has been a template for understanding how issues of transference and counter-transference can impact the way people communicate and connect with one another.
