 Title of presentation:  - Why the 12 Steps? – A Clinical Perspective

 

Goals/Objectives: 

1)    To move past professionals’ biases and misconceptions regarding 12 Step programs

2)    To create greater understanding of the need for a multifaceted recovery model that includes the 12 Steps in an ongoing support system.

3)    To foster understanding of the role of unhealthy vs healthy attachment in addictive disorders

4)    To understand why 12 Step Recovery supports ongoing growth for both Dependents and Co-Dependents

Ellyn Kravette, MSW, LSW, CASAC, CADC,  CEAP           SAP Qualified

 

Ellyn Kravette has worked in the substance abuse field for over 35 years and in Transportation

Industry as an Employee Assistance Professional since 1995.  She  is the founder of 

E. Nightingale, Inc., a personal and professional development organization that provides, training, interventions, SAP assessments, substance abuse services, and short-term counseling.  Under the name, Open Door Ministries, the company provides I

Interfaith education and psychospiritual counseling to religiously affiliated and non-affiliated clients in an effort to promote

and integrate personal ethical, spiritual and material concerns, without imposing religious bias. 

 

Ellyn, has a Master’s Degree in Social Work, (1999 Marywood U) is Credentialed as an Employee Assistance Professional,

Certified as an Addiction Counselor in both New York and Pennsylvania and is a Qualified Substance Abuse Professional. 

She is an ordained Interfaith Minister and has served as an Associate Chaplain.  She is currently working on a PhD in Behavioral

Science
