Overview of Training:
This training will provide Employee Assistance Professionals with a practical understanding of how evidence-based practices are used in substance use disorder treatment to support not only clinical recovery, but also workplace readiness and long-term functional stability. Participants will learn how approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and trauma-informed care contribute to improved decision-making, emotional regulation, and relapse prevention, skills directly tied to job performance and retention. Emphasis will be placed on collaboration between EAPs and treatment providers to ensure continuity of care, reduce risk, and support employees in maintaining recovery while reintegrating into the workplace. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies to better support employees navigating substance use challenges, from referral through reintegration.
