Title of Presentation: The Impact of Technology on Addiction Population and Recovery Issues
Goals/Objectives:
1. To pefine how technology impacts internet addiction symptoms.
2. To describe how technology exacerbates and escalates process addictions: gambling, sexual addiction, body image, and effects chemical dependency.
3. To provide insight on complications of internet on depression and mental health issues.
4. To provide practical clinical interventions to treat clients.
Presenter:
A. Michael Blanche, LCSW
Michael is a licensed clinical social worker with over fourteen years experience providing direct clinical counseling for those who are dually diagnosed with addiction and other psychological disorders.
Preview:
Blending up to date research, theoretical frame works, including attachment theory, and direct clinical practice, the presenter will present and explore connections and complications that technology, the internet, smart phones and social networking sites have had on addiction: chemical dependency, process addictions, image issues as well mental health challenges in Dual Diagnosis.
